Head Coach: J.V. Sikes (Fourth Season)
Overall Record: 36-37, 22-16 LSC
First Team All-LSC
D.L. Connor
Weldon McCord
Sikes tied the Lion record for longest tenured coach in his fourth season. In that season experience proved to beneficial, as he once again led the Lions to winning season. The Lions split a pair of games against Northwestern State (Louisiana), and then took two from Paris Junior College. A tough three-game losing streak against Southern Methodist, Dallas Dr. Pepper AAU, and Hardin-Simmons threatened to sink the Lions early in the season, but Sikes quickly turned that around with a four-game win streak, i
ncluding important victories over Texas State and North Texas. Stephen F. Austin would sweep the Lions in 1934, but A&M-Commerce managed to sweep the other Texas Founding Father, devouring Sam Houston State twice. The season ended with a 43-31 win over North Texas.
