Noel Fain
Pilgrim's third season was extremely successful, though thanks to a tough conference in 1959, they only finished fourth in the LSC. The Lions lost the first game of the season, a 66-40 beat down by Louisiana Tech, but then they bounced back to win the next eight. This win streak buoyed the Lions through the rest of the season, as they couldn't put together another win streak longer than two games. A&M-Commerce ended the season with an 18-9 record, and just 8-7 in the LSC.
Noel Fain had an incredible season in 1959. He set the Lion season scoring record with 554 points, becoming the first Lion to ever break through the 500-point ceiling. He also led the Lions in made field goals (201), made free throws (152), points per game (20.52), and rebounds (250).
Due to Fain's statistical acumen, he earned a spot on the First Team All-LSC.
