1994 was the first season that Coach Peak finished with a winning record, a 16-12 mark (7-5 LSC). Peak's squad had an average start in ?94, finishing their non-conference schedule with an 8-6 record. They then won four consecutive games against conference opponents, and continued to perform well in LSC play. The Lions only lost five games in conference: A&M-Kingsville, Central Oklahoma (twice), West Texas A&M, and Angelo State. The Lions entered the LSC tournament tied for 2nd in the conference, and playe
d rather well in the championships. They eventually lost to Central Oklahoma for the third time that season, and once again missed the national playoffs.

Jason Hall led the Lions in scoring in 1994, raking up 451 points in 28 games. Charles Ward led in rebounds, snagging 246. KiKi Montgomery was the quarterback in 1994, dishing out 132 assists. Ward did his best Dikembe Mutombo impression under the basket, swatting 22 blocks.

Hall was honored with a First Team All-LSC spot, and Ward got a Second Team nod. Tim Cleveland secured the second Academic All-LSC award in Men's basketball history in 1994; it was also his second time winning the award.
