Third Season (38-16-2 Overall; 15-7-1 LSC)
Piper's third season saw the Lions reach an overall record of 9-6-1, but a 3-4 record against conference opponents led to A&M-Commerce missing the LSC Tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 1996. The Lions sandwiched their season with blowout home victories, beating Ouachita Baptist 8-0 in their season opener and then defeating Southwestern Oklahoma 9-0 in the season finale. Central Oklahoma would eventually go on to claim the LSC Championship.
The players seeing action in all 16 games included Lynette Bass, Denise Cowan, Jana Sandall, Amber Lewis and Sarah Fagan. Freshman Emily Brueggemann exploded onto the scene with 17 goals and 4 assists (38 points) to lead the Lions in goal-scoring and shots (74). In fact, Brueggemann set the LSC Record for both points (14) and goals (6) in a game against Southwest Oklahoma. Senior Lynette Bass meanwhile led the way in assists with 11. In goal, Sarah Fagan logged 65 saves and 5 shutouts for a 1.35 GAA and .
747 save percentage in 1470 minutes.
