Fifth Season (61-27-6 Overall; 24-12-2 LSC)
In Neil Piper's fifth season, the Lions roared out to a lightning-fast start, going undefeated through their first 12 games to rack up a 10-0-2 record. Over the course of that span, the Lions accrued three consecutive blowout wins, beating Ouachita Baptist 8-0 at home before hitting the road to take down Texas Wesleyan (10-1) and Harding (6-0). The Lions fell back to Earth a bit against LSC competition, going 4-3-1 in conference and an overall record of 14-3-2, which shockingly left them out of the LSC To
urnament. Central Oklahoma would go on to be crowned champions.
Nine different Lions earned the distinction of seeing action in every contest for the Lions (Emily Brueggemann, Erin de Wolfe, Cory Copeland, Melissa Arnold, Michele Alvarado, Jacette Aguiar, Sree Kolloru, Kensley Apetz and Sarah Fagan). Brueggemann had a whale of a season with 20 goals and 7 assists (47 points), while de Wolfe (7g, 8a; 22p) and Zita Tiamuh (8g, 5a; 21p) had strong years in their own right. In frame, Sarah Fagan had 69 saves and 10 shutouts for a 0.70 GAA and .841 save percentage in 1673
minutes.
