LSC Regular Season Champions + NCAA 1st Round
Coach Piper followed up 2002's fast start by getting off to an even faster start. The Lions went undefeated through their first 17 games, and wound up with a 15-1-3 record at the end of the regular season to win the LSC Regular Season Championship. The Lions won their first playoff matchup by shutting out Midwestern State 2-0. They then drew West Texas A&M, but couldn't quite prevail as the Lady Buffs captured the LSC Tournament Championship with the 1-0 win. Both teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament,
and drew the rematch against one another just four days later. WT once again had the upper hand, vanquishing the Lions 2-1. A&M-Commerce would finish with a 16-3-3 overall record.
Only three Lions -Erin de Wolfe, Michele Alvarado and Lanna King- managed to draw starts in all 22 contests of the season. The trifecta of Tiffany Adams (20g, 6a; 46p), Erin de Wolfe (9g, 15a; 33p) and Emily Brueggemann (13g, 6a; 32p) were the pillars of the Lion attack, constituting 72.5% of the team's points between the three of them. Three different keepers tried their hands in goal to fill the void left by Sarah Fagan, with Amber Ramoz drawing the majority of the work. Ramoz recorded 59 saves and 7.5
shutouts for a 0.59 GAA and .868 save percentage in 1366 minutes.
