LSC Semifinalists
After twelve straight years of winning seasons, the Lions' extraordinary run came to an end in 2007 when they went 9-10-1, the school's first losing record in history. By going 5-4 in conference though, the Lions cobbled together a strong enough resume to make the LSC Tournament. The Lions drew the Texas Woman's Pioneers in the first round, and just like in 2006, regulation concluded with the game locked in a 2-2 tie. Unlike 2006 though, it was the Lions who prevailed on penalty kicks, exacting revenge fo
r two years prior. That led to a tournament showdown with Central Oklahoma for the second consecutive year. The high-scoring affair ended in disappointing fashion for the Lions, as they fell 3-4. The Bronchos would go on to lose to West Texas A&M in the championship game.
Five Lions -Meagan Lasley, Melissa DoRemus, Megan Monroe, Erika Bonola and Jennifer Alvarado- saw action in all 21 contests. Lasley led the team in assists (9) and points (31), while sharing the lead in goals with Bailey Geels (11 each). Jennifer Alvarado's first year in frame for the Lions resulted in 100 saves and 5 shutouts for a 1.75 GAA and .725 save percentage in 1950 minutes.
