LSC Quarterfinalists
In year 13 of his tenure as A&M-Commerce's skipper, head coach Neil Piper led his squad to an 8-7-3 overall record, going 4-4-3 in conference play. After winning five of their first six games, the Lions would struggle through the rest of their schedule, only winning three out of the remaining 11 contests of the regular season. Stumbling into the LSC Tournament, the Lions were dispatched 2-0 against Angelo State. Abilene Christian would go on to win the LSC Championship, their only women's soccer title bef
ore making the leap to Division I following the 2012-13 season.
Five Lions -Devon Herrman, Brionna Minde, Jordan McCarty, Evan Stanberry and Taylor Maeker- drew starts in all five contests for A&M-Commerce. No one player really grabbed the reigns offensively as in years past, with Chelsey Haight (7g, 2a; 16p) and Devon Herrman (5g, 2a; 12p) as the team's most effective threats. In net, former backup Randi Hafele took the majority of action in goal, racking up 85 saves and 9 shutouts for a 0.70 GAA and .867 save percentage on 1676 minutes.
