LSC Semifinalists
After going an entire 16 seasons with only one losing season, the Lions at last hit another stumbling block in 2011 by going 8-9-3, going 6-6-2 in LSC competition. Despite the rough overall season, the Lions not only made the LSC Tournament, they dispatched Angelo State in the first round, going to PKs after a 1-1 tie. Their fortune was not to last however, as A&M-Commerce would go on to fall to No. 1 seeded Abilene Christian by a score of 0-2. ACU would make it to the finals, where they'd fall to Midwest
ern State, who picked up their first LSC Championship since 1996.
Six Lions -Brionna Minde, Cadie Annett, Devon Herrman, Eva Brutto, Randi Hafele, and Callie Annett- earned the distinction of starting all twenty of their contests. Minde (10g, 6a; 26p) was the chief offensive threat for the Lions, while eventual LSC Freshman of the Year Jade Bell (7g, 4a; 18p) was in the mix as well. Randi Hafele resumed her role as starting keeper, accumulating 101 saves and 3 shutouts for a 1.54 GAA and .759 save percentage in 1872 minutes.
