NCAA First Round
Following the program's first back-to-back losing record seasons, 16th year head coach Neil Piper rebounded with a 11-6-2 overall record, going 5-4-1 in conference play. The Lions would qualify for the LSC Tournament, only to fall to Midwestern State in PKs following a 0-0 tie. Midwestern State would go on to win the tournament championship, while they would split the regular season championship record with Angelo State. Improbably, the Lions narrowly qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time i
n school history, where they would fall 1-0 to St. Edward's.
LSC Freshman of the Year Savannah Grasser broke onto the scene for the Lions, leading A&M-Commerce in every offensive category (7g, 7a; 21a). She, along with Vicky Back and Laura Heron, had the honor of being the only Lions who drew starts in all 19 games of the season. In net, newcomer Callie Ballard accrued 78 saves and 8 shutouts for a 0.79 GAA and .848 save percentage on 1598 minutes played.
