Alice Fortes
Coach Goodlett and the Lions failed to win 30 games in her third season, finishing with a 25-25 record overall and a 6-5 conference record. The Lions had a very tough schedule though, with matchups against Texas Tech, Wichita State, Fort Hays State, Kansas, Cal State Sacremento, Air Force, Regis, Central Missouri, and Alaska-Anchorage. A&M-Commerce still fought their way into a conference tournament berth, and made it to the LSC Championship final before losing once again to Angelo State.
Alice Fortes, Angie Neylon, Paulette Pilcik, Stacy Harris, and Loudie Cunningham each appeared in over 100 games for A&M-Commerce. Neylon led the Lions in kills with 347, and Fortes wasn't far behind with 307. Pilcik had the most assists with 665, and Fortes had 515. Fortes had 66 service aces, and Neylon had the second-most with just 38.
Fortes was named LSC Freshman of the Year, and earned a spot on the First Team All-LSC as well. Stacy Harris was named to the Second Team All-LSC.
