The Lions backtracked a little in 1993, finishing with a 15-21 record overall and their third consecutive losing season in conference play with a 5-10 LSC record. A&M-Commerce had several losing streaks of two, three, and four games, but managed to take down Fort Hays State, A&M-Kingsville twice, Texas Woman's, Indianapolis, Central Oklahoma, and Cameron. Their season was once again ended by Abilene Christian in the first round of the LSC Tournament.
Leslie Harris took over for Rooney on the offensive side of the ball in 1993, collecting 455 kills to lead the team, and Erin Pate wasn't far behind with 423. Gloria Trevino appeared in just 87 sets for A&M-Commerce, but still managed 743 assists, a pace of 8.54 assists per set. Toni Granberry appeared in 105 sets and snagged 599 assists, a 5.7 assist/set average. Amy Maddox was a force on the defensive side with 359 digs (1st on the team) and 52 total blocks (4th on the team), and Pate had 116 total bloc
ks to lead Lion volleyball's efforts at the net.
Pate continued the All-LSC trend by earning a spot on the First Team All-LSC, her first and just the second under Johnson. Harris and Trevino garnered Honorable Mention All-LSC nods, and Harris and Granberry were both named Honorable Mention All-LSC Academic.
