Coach Johnson had her best year at A&M-Commerce in 1994, guiding the Lions to a 21-13 record (13-4 LSC). Lion Volleyball began the season with an impressive 4-4 mark in tournament appearances in Kansas and Missouri. The Lions then assembled an impressive three-game win streak, including victories at West Texas A&M and at Eastern New Mexico. The Lions would head home, lose to Henderson State in four sets, and then beat A&M-Kingsville, Abilene Christian, and Angelo State. The Lions briefly jaunted down sout
h to dominant A&M-Kingsville, and returned home for a close five-set loss to Texas Woman's and a five-set win over eventual LSC champion Central Oklahoma. A&M-Commerce took down Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M again near the end of the season, a feat which hasn't been accomplished since. The season ended in the LSC Championship game with a loss to Central Oklahoma.
Leslie Harris and Erin Pate continued to be a force to be reckoned with. Harris led the Lions in kills with 535, and Pate had 415. The two-pronged assist machine of Tracey Giorgio (865 assists) and Toni Granberry (723 assists) helped the Lions set a school record with 1,736 total assists, a record that would last until 2001. Giorgio also led the Lions in digs with 454, and Christy Edmond was an Iron Curtain at the net with 161 total blocks.
For their team and individual accomplishments, several Lions were recognized by the Lone Star Conference. Harris and Pate were both named First Team All-LSC and All-LSC Academic, Giorgio and Granberry were named Honorable Mention All-LSC, and Granberry and Abigail Marshall were named Honorable Mention All-LSC Academic.
