Coach Johnson's sixth and final season at A&M-Commerce would be one of her most successful. The Lions would put together a 20-13 record (10-6 LSC). Lion volleyball started off hot with a 3-1 record at their first tournament of the season, and they took down Henderson State the next week at home. The Lions would never allow more than two losses in a row in 1995, and they also had win streaks of three games (twice) and six games. Unfortunately, Central Oklahoma ended their postseason once again by knocking
them out of the first round of the LSC tournament.
The Lions really spread the stats around in 1995, with no one Lion sticking out as a dominant presence. Toni Skipalis (formerly Granberry) was the leader in kills with 283, but Cynthia Cook (277) and Tracey Giorgio (276) weren't far behind. Giorgio also led the Lions in assists (723) and digs (403), and Skipalis was second in both assists (671) and digs (362). Cook (138) and Christy Edmond (103) were Twin Towers at the net, blocking a total of 241 shots.
Cook earned a spot on the First Team All-LSC, Giorgio and Skipalis were named to the Second Team All-LSC, and Skipalis, Chanti Mertz, Jennifer Murphy-Wood, and Chantel Strong were all honored with Honorable Mention All-LSC Academic awards. This was one of the most decorated squads in Lion history.
