Pryor avoided the sophomore slumps altogether, leading the Lions to their best record since 1987, a 25-10 finish (8-5 LSC). A&M-Commerce had their longest winning streak in the history of Lion Volleyball, stringing together 14 wins. These wins included a 3-0 appearance at the Dallas Baptist tournament and four wins over conference opponents. The Lions wouldn't lose from September 8 until October 3, when the Lions traveled to Pittsburg State, going down in four sets. The Lions assembled another four-game w
in streak soon after, and ended the season with a second appearance in the LSC tournament. This time Lion Volleyball would get past the first round, taking down Central Oklahoma in five sets. But West Texas A&M would down the Lions in the second round in just three sets, ending their season.
Lauren Flynn had a season for the ages in 2009, breaking her own digs record with 795 digs in 128 games. That was a 6.21 dig/game average. Naomi Mays led the Lions in kills with 404, and Perla Faudoa led with 1,296 assists.
