The departure of Neal and several other Lions through graduation was tough on the 2014 squad. A&M-Commerce struggled to a 7-23 finish, and just 4-12 in the LSC. Perhaps the toughest part of the 2014 season is how many games the Lions almost won, and then lost in five sets. The Lions had leads over Dallas Baptist, Ouachita Baptist, Cameron, and Eastern New Mexico, only to see those leads disappear. Many more of their games went to four sets, where once again the youth and lack of experience on the squad pr
oved to be their undoing. Despite their tough season, Case managed to lead the girls to their third consecutive LSC championships. Unfortunately, their first round matchup came against #21 West Texas A&M, who demolished the Lions in three sets.
Amy Davault concluded her two-year career at A&M-Commerce with another stellar season at the net. She smacked down 455 kills in 109 games, an astounding 4.17 kills/set average. Davault also led in service aces with 23. Ashley Mireles led in digs with 520, and Courtney Tate led in assists with 1,056. Delanee Clark led in blocks with 69.
Davault earned consecutive First Team All-LSC honors, Tate snagged an Honorable Mention All-LSC spot, and Taryn Driver garnered All-Academic acclimation.
