Head Coach: Susie Knause (First Season) - 10-6 Overall
This was the first season of A&M-Commerce basketball. Susie Knause would have the honor of being the team's first head coach in school history. The Lions' started off their existence with a three game winning streak, beating Dallas Baptist in two consecutive games (39-25 was the score in their first game), and then defeating Trinity Valley Community College. East Texas State wound up with a 10-6 record at the end of their first campaign.
