Head Coach: Kelly Breazeale (Second Season) - 16-31 Overall, 6-16 LSC
In Coach Breazeale's second season in charge of the women's basketball program, the Lions got off to a 4-4 start. It wasn't until February that the Lions had their most convincing win, a 94-59 thumping of Eastern New Mexico. Nonetheless, with a 7-16 overall record and a 2-10 record against conference opponents, the Lions missed the Lone Star Tournament for the first time since LSC women's basketball started in the 82/83 season. For the first time in conference history, Abilene Christian did not win a shar
e of the LSC Championship, with the title instead going to West Texas State.
Alice Fortes was the all-around best player for the Lions, averaging a double-double (13.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg) while also pawing away 37 steals over the course of the season. Meshell Graham was the team's top offensive option with 16.2 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game, while Shanna Clayton was the top distributor and pass-disruptor for the Lions, with 95 assists and 55 steals. Graham made history for the ETSU by becoming the first player in program-history to garner First Team All-LSC acclaim.
