Game 7-9: Arkansas Monticello
After a tough 2-7 start to the season, the Lions rallied back to win six of their next 7 to start the season .500 at 8-8. ETSU ultimately finished 13-15 with a 7-7 record against LSC opponents, which surprisingly was not good enough to make the Tournament, making three years in a row without a berth. West Texas State would pick up their third title in as many years.
Alice Fortes averaged the most rebounds (8.7 rpg) and second-most points (13.9 ppg), but missing 11 games greatly limited her net production. With 440 points on the season, Sandy Norrell was the leading scorer with 15.7 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Bessie Sorrells was the top-distributor with 121 assists on the season, while three other Lions (Dede Palmer, Terail Walker and Shonny Vanlandingham) averaged double-digit scoring.
After four years leading the program, Coach Breazeale would part with ETSU at the conclusion of this season. She finished her career in Commerce with an overall record of 37-65, with a 15-31 record against LSC opponents.
