After starting the season 2-2, the Lions experienced a costly rough patch, losing their next eight contests. They would ultimately finish the season 9-17 with a 7-9 record against LSC opponents, a nearly identical record to the previous season. Once again, the A&M-Commerce could not qualify for the Lone Star Conference Tournament, and would look on from home as Abilene Christian took their second consecutive conference championship, their eighth in school-history.
Jennifer Hickman averaged the most points and rebounds per game for the Lions (15.1 ppg, 10.1 rpg), but her season was cut short, as she competed in only 14 of 26 games for A&M-Commerce. Susanne Walsh was the next best option for the Lions with 9.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Jessica Douglas had the most steals (52) and assists (94) for the Lions that year.
