Head Coach: Denny Downing (Fourth Season) - 41-70 Overall; 20-34 LSC
T-2nd North

Head coach Denny Downing's fourth season at the head of the A&M-Commerce women's basketball program was the year he broke through, as it was the Lions' first winning season since 96/97. A&M-Commerce got off to a 4-1 start to the season, and rode that momentum to a 16-13 overall record, most notably maintaining a perfect 13-0 record in the Field House. The Lions qualified for the LSC Tournament with a 7-5 record against conference opponents, and for the first time since 94/95, moved beyond the first round
by defeating Tarleton State by a score of 60-59. Alas, that's as far as A&M-Commerce's fortunes would carry them, as they fell to the eventual champions West Texas A&M 64-58.

Kanani Marshal was a huge contributor for the Lions, leading the team in both scoring (15.2 ppg) and takeaways (89 steals). Portia Mitchell led the Lions in blocks (23) while Rashida Wilson led the team in passing (164 assists). Katedria Mosley was the top-rebounder (6.9 rpg) and second-most prolific scorer (12.6 ppg), while Andrea Lewis was also prominently involved, averaging double digit scoring.
