LSC North Division Coach of the Year
NCAA Elite Eight

The 06/07 campaign was by far the most successful season in A&M-Commerce women's basketball history to this point, for a medley of reasons. Once again the Lions were suffocating at home, accruing a 15-1 home record. Between December 9 and March 12, the Lions put together 23-2 overall record. A&M-Commerce would ultimately finish the regular season with a 10-2 mark against conference opponents, giving the Lions the best record in the LSC North Division and easily qualifying them for the LSC Tournament, whic
h they had the privilege of hosting. There, they ran through Tarleton State (97-77) and Angelo State (65-59) to reach the Tournament finals for the first time in school history. The Lions prevailed over West Texas A&M by a score of 81-71, claiming their first LSC Championship since the LSC picked up women's basketball in 1982, 24 years prior.

The Lions' rousing success through the season didn't end there, as they would go on to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. The opening round was played in St. Joseph, Missouri at the home of Missouri Western State University, where the Lions drew Emporia State, who they vanquished 81-77 thanks in large part to a 27 point performance from Kanani Marshal. In the Round of 32, the Lions met the hosts Missouri Western, and the Lions once again won (73-72) on the back of three
19-point performances from Marshal, Britney Jordan and Katedria Mosley to move on to the Sweet 16. There, the Lions faced Washburn, and thanks to yet another strong performance from Marshal (22 Pts), the Lions won 71-70 and advanced to the Elite Eight in Kearney, Nebraska to face Clayton State. Despite an 18 point performance from Tradawn Short, the Lions couldn't overcome a poor performance from three point land (4 for 30), and fell 60-55.

Marshal and Jordan had outstanding individual seasons for the Lions, with Marshal in particular garnering the first All-American honor in A&M-Commerce history. Both players were led the team in scoring with over 18 points per game, with Jordan being slightly better in the assist department (176 to 159) and Marshal being the better in steals (125 to 83). Katedria Mosley was also a key player for the Lions, leading the team in rebounding (6.7 rpg) and blocks (36).
