Head Coach: Jason Burton Third Year); 50-36 Overall, 30-22 in LSC
Fourth in LSC

In his third season as head coach, Jason Burton led the Lions to one of their best seasons in program history. The team reached the 20-win mark for just the second time in history, finishing the regular season with a record of 20-8. The team also became the first team in program history to defeat every single LSC opponent at least once during the regular season. The team never lost consecutive games.
After losing their first game of the season, the Lions responded with three consecutive wins, including a buzzer-beater win over MSU Denver on the road. The Lions' season took a blow as starting point guard Princess Davis was lost for the season to injury in the fifth game of the year. This promoted Khala Riley to point guard and brought Jenna Price into the starting lineup for the first time. In the Lions' game against Southeastern Oklahoma, the team overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to force overtime
and ultimately win the game. The team rode the momentum of that win to win its first two conference games. After falling on the road to eventual regular season champion ENMU on the road, the Lions had another three-game winning streak to push their record to 9-3. After another loss, the Lions defeated Tarleton St. on the road to tie the fastest start in school history, with a 10-4 record halfway through the season. Another starter was lost for the season due to injury during the holiday break for A&M-Com
merce.
Starting with a win over Arlington Baptist, the team had its longest winning streak of the season with four wins, including a 18-point win over West Texas A&M at the Field House, breaking a 15-game losing streak to the Buffs and recording their first regular season home win against WT in 15 years. Beginning in the third week of January, the Lions won nine of their next 11 games, including a nail-biting game against Angelo St. to position themselves well in the postseason tournament. The team was ranked as
high as sixth in the official NCAA Regional Rankings before a loss to WT on the road dropped the team to eighth. The Lions finished with a 78-69 win over UT Permian Basin to secure a 20-win season for just the second time in program history, riding a 31-point performance from Artaejah Gay. The Lions again drew Tarleton St. in the first round of the LSC Tournament and lost by six to the eventual tournament champions, also being eliminated from further postseason play.
Artaejah Gay led the team averaging 14.3 points, which was sixth in the LSC She also was sixth in field goal percentage and fifth in blocked shots. Jenna Price led the LSC with 235 rebounds during the regular season on her way to Freshman of the Year honors. She also had seven double-doubles. Khala Riley was second in the LSC in assists, averaging 4.5 assists per contest. Krystal Pickron and Brianna Wise also averaged double-figure scoring for the team. Gay earned Second Team All-Conference selection and
Riley was a Third-Team All-Conference honoree. Price and Pickron were Honorable Mention All-Conference selections and Wise was named to the All-Defensive Team.
